Open Daily 9:30–6:00, Monday Until 8:00
The Gagliardi and Domke gallery was founded in 2003 in Turin as Gagliardi Art System thanks to the passion for art of Pietro Gagliardi, founder and creative director of one of the most important Italian advertising agencies.
GAS, this was the acronym with which the gallery was originally identified, has pursued innovative artistic choices, crossing different expressive languages, from painting to new media, from sculpture to Net Art.
“Will it be a gallery dedicated to technological art?”
“Will it rather be a gallery dedicated to performances?”
“Who knows how they will choose the artists?”
These were just some of the questions that the public had when learned about another opening of a Contemporary Art gallery by an alien to the art world.
In 2011, after eight years from the opening, and thirsty for larger spaces, the gallery changed location, and moved from its historic location in Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, 90 – near the GAM (Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art of Turin), to the Barriera di Milano area, a slowly transforming neighborhood on the northern skirts of Turin, full of abandoned factories and easy to reach thanks to convenient motorway and railroad connections.
The exhibition spaces of the gallery are now set out in a post-industrial structure, a former cables factory in via Cervino 16, which hosts large and modulated covered exhibition spaces, but also outdoors, and also the warehouse, and all is accessible to the public.
“It feels like being in Manhattan.”
“It feels like being in a museum.”
“It’s the most beautiful gallery I’ve ever seen”
“Worth the trip”
These are just some of the expressions arising spontaneously by visitors landing in via Cervino 16.
Welcome to Gagliardi and Domke, its website and on social media, but most of all, when you want to treat yourself, reach us physically in via Cervino 16, 10155 Torino – Italy!
