D'après
February 24 — may 19, 2022
Alongside Carlo Steiner’s exhibition Spores, there is the staging of an exhibition of works from the gallery, gathered around a theme that has always been important in the choices of the gallery itself. It is no coincidence that, if we look back at the past, we find, in 2003, the second exhibition of the newly founded gallery which was then called GAS, an exhibition entitled “D’Aprés”, curated by Peter Weiermair, then director of MAMBO (Museum of Modern Art of Bologna).
We can now find some of the works present at the time on display: from the Marilyn inspired to Warhol work, by Marco Silombria, to the Deposition by Stefano Scheda, and from the work inspired to Giotto, by Arnulf Rainer, to that of Javier Gil inspired to Piranesi. And then: Giuliana Cunéaz with two works inspired, one by Van Gog’s Potato Eaters and the other by a fresco by Giovanni da Modena present in San Petronio in Bologna; Aurore Valade with a work inspired by Ghirlandaio and another inspired by Piero della Francesca; Nespolo citing Picabia and Klee; Evergon which quotes Caravaggio, and Paola Risoli which draws inspiration from Matisse (works exhibited at the MAMAC in Nice).
